  1. BBEdit 4.0 Demo - is a high performance text editor for the Macintosh. The purpose of a text editor is to prepare text for transport across communications links (as in an email system), processing by another program (such as a compiler, HTML renderer, or database system), and to serve for light-duty text composition tasks. In contrast to a word processor, whose purpose is to prepare documents for optimal visual presentation, the focus of a text editor is on the transformation and manipulation of text as data, rather than on manipulation of visual attributes (such as style or color).
  2. By design, BBEdit is optimized for the editing, searching, transformation, and manipulation of text. It provides an array of general-purpose features which are useful for many tasks, and includes some features which are specifically tuned to the needs of software developers and HTML authors. This is the demo file of BBEdit 4.0. Fully functional with Save disabled.
